Silver Lining at British Championships

The British Championships in Meribel on 2-5 April was – for once – held on surprisingly good late-season snow. I secured a consistent second in both the Super-G practice and race events and 18th position overall despite some heavy fog on race day.

British SG Podium

The GS on Thursday was held on the steep Stade piste and rutted quickly in the warm spring weather and the extra traffic of 36 of the faster mini’s racing in run 1. After both runs I finished in second place on the podium behind Angus Wills with medals presented by Sir John Ritblat of the main sponsor; Delancey.

Slalom on Friday ended in run 1 when I abandoned after straddling one of the stubbie gates although my Brother Harry won Bronze.British U14 Team Winners

Points from the Super-G and GS were enough to win overall second place in the individual competition and added to the team total for BSA who won U14 boys team and U14 overall team for the first time since 2005. My older brother Ollie was also part of the winning U16 team.

It’s been a busy season with some great results and good experience of International racing. Next year I’m in U16 so it’ll be a summer of on and off-ski training ahead of the 2014 season.
