GS Bronze at Anglo-Scottish

After Christmas and a week of training at BSA, 5th January saw the start of the racing season with the BSA Grand Prix and Anglo-Scottish slalom on Grand Bois. Despite the third fastest U14 time in run 2 and an even faster run 1, a mistake on the final verticale a few gates from the line meant a disqualification on Saturday. Sunday proved equally frustrating with a straddle mid-way through both courses resulting in two DNF’s.

A fast GS course on Anglo Scottish GSCol de Voza the following day started well with sub-55 seconds earning first place after run 1. My second run on a course fast-disintegrating in the unexpected sunshine missed the pace of Mathieu Avent and Angus Wills who narrowly overturned my half-second lead to take first and second places respectively. This result was repeated in the GS Grand Prix on Tuesday where Mathieu and Angus took first and second spots ahead of my third place.GB Children's Team

Overall two GS podiums is an encouraging start with the entire U14 and U16 GB teams in attendance and I’ll aim to improve my slalom finishes ahead of the Czech races at the end of January.
